One of my favorite things in life is watching something go from an idea to reality.

To me, Portal has always felt like an idea that wants to exist in the world - and I’ve often felt the best way I can serve that idea is simply to try and get out of its way.

As the year comes to a close, I’m reflecting on all the people that have helped make Portal a reality - hundreds behind the scenes, thousands more who’ve gathered in person at our events, and hundreds of thousands who’ve taken part digitally from all over the world. It’s been humbling to witness.

Portal has grown through the contributions of so many, yet there isn’t a single full-time employee behind it. That speaks to the heart of this movement. And at the same time, to truly serve our mission, and to make a good idea a great one, it needs resources.

So that’s what the next chapter is about: ensuring Portal has the team & resources to continue its work with care and integrity. Depth over scale.

The way we intend to do that is grassroots - building out the Portal membership which is being designed to create real value in your life, while fueling what we’re building together. More on this soon.

I’m deeply grateful for this community, and for everyone who’s been part of the journey so far.
