April is a reset.

For the past several months we've been quietly rebuilding Portal's digital infrastructure - a new app, a new home on Propeller, and a platform for Bicycle Day to grow in cities around the world.

This month, it all goes live.

Bicycle Day on the 19th is the (re)start. But the bigger picture is about building a real, active presence for Portal in cities globally. A community people can actually feel part of. The version of Portal we've always been building toward.

And here's the truth:
We've gotten to this point without funding. No big checks. No institutional backing. No safety net.

Just belief, a lot of heart and hard work from so many people. And a lot of figuring it out as we go.

All the imperfections are part of what makes it real. It's been built by people who care enough to keep going anyway.

There are plenty of people in this space with resources who haven't given Portal a dime. That's just the reality. But Portal was never meant to be top down.

It's something we build together or not at all.

April 19 - A Global Day of Psychedelic Awareness

Every year on April 19, a relatively small group of people mark the day Albert Hofmann rode his bike home from his lab in Basel, Switzerland and discovered what LSD could do to human consciousness.

Millions of people have had their lives changed by psychedelics. Yet most of them don't talk about it. The stigma is real and the cost of visibility feels too high.

But the movement won't grow in the dark.

Bicycle Day is like Earth Day for psychonauts - a day where riding through your city is the statement.

We're looking for one person per city to lead the April 19 ride. You set the meeting point. You welcome the riders. You hold it together on the day.

It's important, but easy - and Ride Captains get a full year of Portal membership free.
